Scalp prosthetics and the future of hair loss.
60% of women will experience hair loss at some stage in their lifetime.
This year my singular focus as far as personal development has been familiarising myself with hair loss on a deeper lever and finding cosmetic solutions that are going to be as lifestyle friendly as possible for my guests.
A new emerging solution we’re seeing internationally primarily at the moment is scalp prosthetics. This involves a custom made system make of silicone or PU and a medical grade adhesive. Prioritising comfort, breathability and a natural appearance that is discreet for daily wear without damaging the natural hair underneath. The last few months I’ve been studying and preparing to complete my training in the area with the hope of offering the women of Newcastle a cosmetic solution to severe hair loss.
This is something I’m excited to pursue further into 2026 and onwards, and will be seeking models shortly for trailing.
